Idea #3: I want to be an actor.

IDEA: "I want to act!" - Kari

IDEA HISTORY: "I had always had this secret. I had regretted not getting into acting more when I was younger. I had been thinking about it off and on in the back of my mind for YEARS. It become more prominent when someone, earlier this year, told me I would be really great as a commercial actor. I'm not going to lie, it was the best compliment I had heard in a long time. I had secretly dreamed of being on stage...now in my secret dreams I was also a fantastic dancer, an amazing vocalist, and I'm pretty sure I was on Broadway, but you get the idea."

PRE WHITEBOARD SESSION IDEA STATUS: "I had done ZERO about it before the WBS."

KEY MICROACTIONS: "I researched acting classes in Boston and put my name on the wait list for one that was starting in two weeks and put a deposit down on another starting in July. I started the class!"

RESULTS: Idea Activated! "As a result of the Whiteboard Session I realized that the thing I wanted to do was totally possible. It was easy to find an acting class and now that I have two weeks under my belt, I realize that no matter what comes of this in terms of an acting career I did the thing. AND I love it. It has been the perfect dose of something new, the unknown, and a chance to get out of my comfort zone. And it's a heck of a lot less scary now that I'm in motion and doing it."

COACH NOTES: This idea was particularly fun because it's one she'd had for a loooong long time. We had worked together for MONTHS before she let this little cat out of the bag, and once we had a chance to workshop it a bit it became clear that the steps towards activating this idea were so simple. 1) find a theatre, 2) sign up for an acting class, 3) go.
